Statement by the Official Opposition on the CFB Wainwright accident

NDP National Defence critic Jack Harris (St. John’s East) made the following statement on the death of Lt.-Col. Dan Bobbitt:

" New Democrats join Canadians across the country in expressing our profound sadness at the death of Lt.-Col. Dan Bobbitt. We extend our most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones for their loss.

Our thoughts also go to the families of the four soldiers injured during a training exercise MAPLE RESOLVE 14 at Garrison Wainwright in Alberta.

This death and these injuries remind us of the dangers our brave men and women in uniform face, whether in combat or in training. "
