Statement by NDP Leader Tom Mulcair on Yom Kippur

Jewish families will be gathered today to observe Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. This is a day for reflection and prayer, a time for repentance and forgiveness.

Compassion and empathy are at the heart of Yom Kippur, the most holy of Jewish holidays. These values bind communities and enrich Canadian society.

On this solemn holiday, let us all commit ourselves to working together to build a better future.
