Statement by NDP Leader Tom Mulcair on Asian Heritage Month

To mark Asian Heritage Month, I invite all Canadians to join me in acknowledging the many contributions of Canadians of Asian origin to our country.

Cultural diversity enriches our country culturally, politically and economically. Asian Heritage Month is an opportunity to promote dialogue, break intercultural barriers and create solidarity between Canadians of all cultures.

I encourage you to take part in the many activities and festivities which will be held across the country to learn more about the contribution of Canadians of Asian origin to our country and about their history, heritage and traditions.
