Statement from NDP deputy leader on hurricane Leslie

New Democrats are sending their thoughts and support today to those who have been displaced by Hurricane Leslie. The hurricane has hit landfall on the east coast and has forced several families in central Nova Scotia to evacuate their homes while others have found themselves stranded. The storm is expected to affect coastal communities throughout Atlantic Canada.

Megan Leslie, the NDP Deputy Leader and MP for Halifax, is urging all residents affected by the storm to be prepared, stay safe and listen to local emergency services.

“Our thoughts are with those affected by the hurricane during this difficult time. We hope that displacement and damage will be kept to a minimum and that no one is put in danger”
