Statement by the Leader of the Official Opposition on Remembrance Day

The Leader of the Official Opposition, Tom Mulcair, made the following statement on Remembrance Day:

“Today Canadians from coast to coast to coast will gather to honour and pay tribute to all those who have served our country in uniform.

Thanks to their efforts, we share the privilege of living in a free and prosperous Canada where we cultivate the values of equality, justice and respect.

Let us take the time to remember and to give thanks to all those who have lost their lives in service to this great country. And show our deepest gratitude to all those who continue to serve.

Let us also acknowledge the immeasurable debt we owe military families.

Let us honour their sacrifice by working together to build a more peaceful world.

Lest we forget.”
