Statement by the Leader of the Official Opposition on Philippine Independence Day

It is with great pleasure that I extend warm wishes to the entire Filipino-Canadian community as it celebrates its 114th anniversary of Independence.

As we celebrate this occasion, I am especially thankful for the valuable contributions the community has made to Canada. As you share your culture, heritage, language and traditions with Canadians, we become a richer nation.

On this Independence Day, let’s all reflect on the past accomplishments and look forward to achieving many more.
