Statement by the leader of the Official Opposition on Family Day

The leader of the Official Opposition, Tom Mulcair, made the following statement on Family Day:

“On behalf of the entire NDP team, I wish you all a wonderful time with your loved ones on this Family Day long weekend.

“This is the perfect opportunity to take a load off and enjoy some down time with your family. For some, this day off offers an opportunity to visit aging parents or distant relatives. For others, it’s an opportunity to organize activities with children or to simply enjoy some down time together.

“We know that Canadians work hard and this extra time with the family is very important.

“That’s why the NDP is proposing policies to make it easier for Canadian families to take on daily challenges and to make life more affordable.

“Happy Family Day!”
