Statement by the leader of the Official Opposition on Eid al-Fitr

Official Opposition Leader Tom Mulcair made the following statement on Eid al-Fitr and the end of Ramadan:

“On behalf of New Democrats, I would like to offer my best wishes to all Muslims in Canada celebrating Eid al-Fitr and the end of Ramadan.

This time of fraternity, forgiveness, reflection and reconciliation is also a celebration with family and friends.

On this occasion of Eid, I would like to recognize the contribution of Muslims in Canada to our society and renew our shared commitment to social justice and peace.

To everyone observing Eid al-Fitr, we wish you a wonderful celebration.
