Statement by Jinny Sims, NDP critic for immigration, citizenship and multiculturalism on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr

Salaam Alaikum and Eid Mubarak.

On behalf of my entire party, please accept my best wishes to those of you who celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and the end of Ramadan today.

On this very special occasion, you come together as a community to give thanks and to renew friendship and family ties.

You also come together to celebrate unity, forgiveness, charity and peace. These are values that are important for everyone to reflect on – Muslim and non-Muslim.

Today, as you celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, New Democrats everywhere share in your rejoicing.
