Statement by New Democrat Leader on India’s Independence Day
On behalf of my party, caucus and staff, I extend best wishes to the people of India as they celebrate Independence Day.
Over the past 64 years, India has come a long way. It’s the largest democracy in the world with one of the fastest growing economies. It is also an example of multiculturalism for the world, with so many diverse religions, languages, cultures and customs, living in relative harmony and peace.
Again, on behalf of all New Democrats, I extend my very best as you mark 64 years of independence.
