Northerners deserve better

Tom Mulcair kicks off Nunavut Tour

NDP Leader Tom Mulcair is in Nunavut this week, talking with Nunavummiut about putting their issues first.

“We’ve learned that decisions made behind closed doors in Ottawa don’t work – Northerners deserve a partner that will listen to their challenges and work with them to find solutions, and that’s exactly why I’m here.”

Mr. Mulcair’s schedule includes a Town Hall meeting with residents of Iqaluit, several meetings with community leaders and stakeholders and an ATV tour of Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park.

“Stephen Harper visits the North for token photo ops – but it’s clear that Northerners want a government that puts their interests first,” said the Leader of the NDP. “I’m here to talk with Nunavummiut about the great potential here in the North, and the role that we can play in investing in that future.”
