New Democrats welcome outcome of Claude Robinson case

OTTAWA - Official Opposition Heritage Critic, Pierre Nantel, has welcomed the decision rendered today by the Supreme Court of Canada on creator Claude Robinson's copyright suit. The court case, which began in 1996, has finally reached a happy ending.

"This case was not only about recognizing the rights of creators, but also about ordinary citizens' access to justice," said Nantel. "After 17 years of litigation, Mr. Robinson can finally claim his victory. His perseverance throughout this whole process has been remarkable."
