New Democrats elect caucus chair, vice chair

Peter Julian and Rathika Sitsabaiesan to chair a re-energized and united caucus

OTTAWA – New Democrats today pledged to be a stronger and more united opposition than ever after re-electing Peter Julian as their caucus chair and choosing Rathika Sitsabaiesan as the new vice chair.

“Peter and Rathika have served our caucus — and Canadians — very well,” said New Democrat Leader Tom Mulcair. “They will chair a re-energized and substantive caucus that is going to get results for Canadians. We will hold Mr. Harper to account and propose solutions on things that matter.”

Caucus Chair Peter Julian, MP for Burnaby — New Westminster, is the critic for Energy and Natural Resources. Vice chair, Rathika Sitsabaiesan is the MP forScarborough--Rouge River.
