NDP: Trudeau should come to committee to reveal NAFTA priorities

Following the Prime Minister's comments yesterday on NAFTA, the NDP's International Trade Critic, Tracey Ramsey, made the following statement:

"Since the election of Donald Trump as President, the Liberals have consistently refused to reveal their priorities for renegotiating NAFTA.

The Liberal government claimed that there would only be small "tweaks" to the trade agreement but this is clearly not the case.

We were pleasantly surprised to hear Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suddenly claim yesterday that he would be "happy" to sit down with opposition parties and discuss the priorities for the negotiations.

We will therefore be moving a motion on Friday at committee to call on the Prime Minister to do exactly that. We take PM Trudeau's statement as genuine, and based on that we are confident that he will have no problem agreeing to this simple request."
