NDP Statement on Hanukkah

NDP Leader, Jagmeet Singh, made the following statement on Hanukkah:

“On behalf of all New Democrats, I wish all Jewish Canadians a bright and peaceful Hanukkah.

Tonight, Jewish Canadian families will light the Menorah and spend the next eight days marking the resilience and victory of their people over oppression and tyranny.

The Festival of Lights is a time to come together as one and celebrate the small and big miracles of daily life. It is a time to remember that faith, determination and hope are powerful means by which to overcome adversity.

Hanukkah also reminds us that we should stand in solidarity with those still facing oppression and tyranny and wish them perseverance, hope, light and freedom.
