NDP statement on the anniversary of the Air India Tragedy

NDP Multiculturalism Critic Rachel Blaney (North Island – Powell River) made the following statement on the Air India tragedy:

"Each year, June 23rd marks a painfully sad day for thousands of Canadian families. 329 people lost their lives when Air India Flight 182 exploded over the Atlantic Ocean.

It is the thirty first anniversary of this horrible tragedy.

Although a Canadian inquiry was launched and completed, many questions remain unanswered. Relatives still struggle to understand how it happened.

Today we mourn and honor the memory of the victims. Together, in remembrance of the victims and their families we recommit to doing all that we can to ensure that acts of violence and terror like this are never repeated."
