NDP REALITY CHECK: Trudeau’s manufacturing woes

Perhaps tired of criticism that he has no plans, the Liberal leader attempted to roll out two ideas on the future of manufacturing in Southern Ontario in two days – never mind that they are directly contradictory.

After taking heat for pronouncing the death of Ontario manufacturing in London:

“A large part of it is transitioning away from manufacturing-based employment as a driver in the economy to much more innovation and high-tech and a more knowledge economy, entrepreneurship and looking at other strengths here such as health sciences and research.”
  • London Free Press, January 20, 2015

Trudeau had changed his tune and was singing its praises just a day later in Windsor:

“We talked about the need for the federal government to step up on manufacturing and give support to local jobs and prosperity.”
  • Windsor Star, January 21, 2015

Of course, his sudden passion for manufacturing would be more believable if he had mentioned it more than a single time in Question Period since being elected.

Justin Trudeau keeps showing his lack of judgement and lack of experience.

Canadians deserve better.
