NDP REALITY CHECK: LIBERALS DON’T THINK ANY WORKERS MAKING MINIMUM WAGE DESERVE A RAISE

Tom Mulcair will reinstate the federal minimum wage – eliminated by the Liberals – and set it at $15 an hour. This will make a real difference in the lives of tens of thousands of hardworking Canadians.

But Justin Trudeau doesn’t think they deserve a raise – he won’t even agree to reinstate the federal minimum wage.

Close to a million people work in federally regulated industries like banking, telecommunications and transportation. And Statistics Canada says that as many as 100,000 make less than $15 an hour.

Tom Mulcair’s plan would reduce income inequality and directly help tens of thousands of workers make ends meet.
