NDP LEADER TOM MULCAIR BRINGS HIS CAMPAIGN FOR CHANGE TO VANCOUVER

This afternoon, NDP Leader Tom Mulcair’s Campaign for Change came to Vancouver. Mulcair was joined by NDP MPs and new candidates from the greater Vancouver area as he outlined his bold vision for Canada.

“Vancouver is ready for change in Ottawa and in this election, it's the NDP that has the experience to defeat Stephen Harper and the plan to repair the damage he's done," said Mulcair.

“Canadians are working harder and not getting further ahead, but our MPs have fought tirelessly to support a strong middle class and the priorities of Vancouver,” said Mulcair. “It’s New Democrats that led efforts to protect Vancouver’s coast by sounding the alarm over Conservative cuts to the Canadian Coast Guard. We were also at the forefront of the fight against Stephen Harper’s Unfair Elections Act and in opposing C-51, which Liberals helped Conservatives pass into law.

An NDP government will make life easier for parents with affordable $15 per day childcare and will boost the economy with tax relief for small businesses to create good jobs. New Democrats will also give a raise to 100,000 low-wage earners by introducing a $15 an hour federal minimum wage.

"Canadians can’t afford another four years of the Conservatives. On October 19, Vancouver voters have a clear choice; four more years of Stephen Harper or our plan for positive change,” said Mulcair.
