NDP congratulates newly elected Canadian Labour Congress President

NDP Labour critic Alexandre Boulerice (Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie) made the following statement after Hassan Yussuff was elected as the new President of the Canadian Labour Congress

“On behalf of all New Democratic Party I would like to congratulate the new President of the Canadian Labour Congress, Hassan Yussuff.

As we have done for 60 years, the NDP will continue to fight alongside strong progressives like Hassan Yussuff, in an effort to improve working conditions and enforce strong workplace health and safety standards.

New Democrats will also continue to be at the forefront of thefight against the Conservative government’s anti-union policies. Securing the right to organize and properly defend workers was the result of years of courageous work—and we will continue to fight tooth and nail to preserve and defend these critical aspects of our workplaces and our economy.”
