NDP condemns abduction and murder of Israeli teenagers

NDP Foreign Affairs Critic Paul Dewar issued the following statement on the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers:

"I am deeply saddened by the tragic and senseless deaths of three Israeli teenagers near Hebron. My thoughts are with the families of Eyal Yifrach, Naftali Frenkel, and Gilad Shaar. Those responsible for the deaths of these young men must be brought to justice.

The targeting of civilians for abduction and murder – most egregiously children – is a reprehensible act of terror. All youth have a right to live, learn, and grow in peace, protected by international law and human decency.

All governments share a common duty to protect children and we urge the Canadian government to help Israel and the Palestinian Authority work together to find the perpetrators of this crime and hold them accountable."
