TORONTO – New Democrat MP Andrew Cash has written to the Prime Minister asking his office to investigate whether the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage may have breached ethical guidelines set out for Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries.
“I am writing with respect to reports that the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage, Paul Calandra, raised thousands of dollars in political donations from people involved in a highly aggressive bidding war for a Toronto radio license,” wrote Cash. “I am concerned that the Parliamentary Secretary has not followed your guide entitled ‘Accountable Government: A Guide for Ministers and Ministers of State’”
“I ask you now to think of the trust placed in your government by Canadians, and investigate the fundraisers.”
