Liberals show courage on TPP in face of dithering leader

Either Trudeau can’t decide, or he won’t admit he agrees with Harper’s secretive deal.

A growing consensus is now developing against the Trans Pacific Partnership, including within the Liberal Party:

“If we open our borders and get rid of supply management, our farms will be in danger, if we look at what’s happening in the United States with subsidized mega-farms.”

Liberal candidate, Marie-Claude Bibeau, Compton-Stanstead, August 26, 2015

“Since (Prime Minister Stephen Harper) has come to power, he's negotiated 34 that have put 55 trade deficits for Canada on record,” she said. “Clearly the way he's negotiating these deals are not in the best interest of Canadians.”

Liberal candidate, Katie Omstead, Chatham Kent, October 6th, 2015.

"I've heard a lot of negative comments about how the Prime Minister has brought this (trade deal signing) forward during an election process, people are concerned about this, and they've shared this concern with me as I go door-to-door,"

Liberal candidate, Terry Sheehan, Sault Ste. Marie, October 5th 2015.

“I have talked to the wine growers … and wine industry here,” said Rahman. “They are very concerned about the impact that (the TPP) competition will bring in.

“If you’ve got a one-way flow of cheaper wines coming in, you’ve got larger issues,” he said, adding his party would also like to see openness and transparency regarding the TPP.

Liberal candidate, Phil Rose, Niagara West, September 30th 2015.

"We are standing for the Oxford agriculture so that when you go into the negotiations you fully appreciate what is at stake, and how that will be impacted. What we need is leadership that will listen to the agriculture representatives and appreciate that you are willing to provide this country with safe food."

Liberal Candidate Don McKay, October 2nd 2015, Oxford.

“We celebrate what is happening at Ford and then our prime minister is negotiating an agreement that would put those jobs at risk, put the manufacturers at risk and put our community at risk…”

Liberal candidate, Pam Damoff, Oakville North-Burlington, October 2nd 2015.

Either Mr. Trudeau can’t decide, or he’s hiding the fact that he actually supports Stephen Harper’s secret TPP deal.
