Leader of the Official Opposition’s statement following the death of the Right Honourable Herb Gray

Official Opposition leader Tom Mulcair made the following statement on the death of the Right Honourable Herb Gray:

“On behalf of all New Democrats, I offer my most sincere condolences to Herb Gray’s family, friends and colleagues.

“Canada has lost an esteemed politician who devoted his life to public service. He was the first Jewish member of the federal Cabinet and a pioneer who held many important offices during his career — including Deputy Prime Minister, Solicitor General of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition.

“Catherine and I offer our heartfelt respect to Mr. Gray for his dedication and outstanding contributions to Canada.”
