Isabelle Morin moving up the ranks in NDP Shadow Cabinet

In preparation for the 2015 election, NDP Leader Tom Mulcair has chosen to further strengthen his Shadow Cabinet by giving new responsibilities to MP Isabelle Morin (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Lachine). Morin will be the new deputy critic for Seniors – an important role in fulfilling the NDP’s promise to better protect seniors by returning the retirement age to 65 and expanding the Canada Pension Plan and Quebec Pension Plan.

“With Isabelle, our seniors will have a strong and competent spokesperson. All seniors deserve to retire with dignity. Unfortunately, Stephen Harper’s latest budget stubbornly spends billions on the wealthiest few among us,” said NDP Leader Tom Mulcair.

“More than ever, New Democrats are ready to repair the damage caused by Stephen Harper and give the middle class a break. The number of seniors in Canada will double by 2036. And no one should have to grow old in poverty, insecurity and isolation,” said Morin.
