Conservatives shut down democratic debate on one-sided Elections Act changes

Shattering all previous records by a wide margin, Conservatives have now shut down debate for a record 56th time this Parliament.

Passing major changes to the Elections Act should be done a non-partisan way, consulting with experts and all parties. Instead, Conservatives moved Time Allocation an hour after the Minister finished introducing the bill.

Conservatives can't debate their own legislation on its merits, so they shut down debate to ram through a bill that gives them an advantage in the next election.

Canadians deserve better.
