With all the faux outrage we have seen from Conservative MPs about the notion that there could be regional offices doing outreach, no doubt these same Conservatives are apoplectic about the 17 regional offices operated for Conservative Ministers – and every single dime to pay for these offices comes from Canadian taxpayers.
A list obtained by NDP MP Charlie Angus revealed:
- The number of regional offices for Ministers has grown from 12 in 2008 to 17 now.
- Over the same time period, the budget for these offices has grown from $1.9 million to over $4 million in 2012-13.
