Conservative Jim Flaherty’s War on the Middle Class

While Conservative Finance Minister Jim Flaherty again skips the House of Commons, and accountability, with his latest Fiscal Update, let’s review his real record on personal income taxes:

The Conservatives collected $15.6 billion more in personal income taxes this year than when they took power. Over the last six years, that’s a total of $53 billion more in income taxes from individual Canadians.

What about corporate taxes? Last year the Conservatives collected $22 million less than the year they took power.

Revenue from personal income tax is now 3.7 times higher than from corporations.

That’s the real Conservative record.
