Missing-in-action: Harper’s environment minister a no-show at climate summit

From withdrawing from Kyoto to weakening greenhouse gas emissions targets, it’s clear that Stephen Harper’s approach to climate change isn’t working. Now, Conservatives are refusing to even talk to world leaders about ideas to lower emissions and create new jobs in clean technology. Environment Minister Leona Aglukkaq was even a no-show at the recent Climate Summit of the Americas.

This failure to act is hurting Canada’s environment, economy, and reputation on the world stage. It’s one of the reasons Canadians are looking for change.

Canadians can trust Tom Mulcair and an NDP government to protect the environment while growing Canada’s economy — by making polluters pay and investing in clean technology.
