Biography
- Pelham Municipal Councillor since 2003, served as Deputy Mayor
- Chairs the Municipal Corporate Services Committee
- Member of the Pelham Library Board
- An electrician by trade, has served on the Executive Board of CAW local 199 since 2000
- As Financial Secretary of the region’s largest union local, oversees a yearly budget of over $4 million
- Delegate to the St. Catharines and District Labour Council
- Helped spearhead the creation of the Bethlehem Project, a non-profit affordable housing complex in St. Catharines
- Member of the Niagara Health Coalition
- Former President of the Niagara District Basketball Referees Association
- Recipient of a Niagara Regional Police Chief Commendation
- Travelled to Africa to oversee the clearing of landmine sites and the construction of women’s co-ops
- Actively participated in the Golden Horseshoe Social Action Committee
- Holds an undergraduate degree in history and political science from Brock University
- Has lived in the Niagara region since 1963
- Married to Peggy Allen — they have three children.
