  • Served as a Director of Northern Ontario Tourist Outfitters, the Armstrong Wilderness Outfitters Association and the Wildlands League
  • Past President of Environment North
  • Worked for many years on various projects dedicated to the sustainability of forests and the jobs dependent on boreal forests
  • Helped plan and develop a network of protected areas in Northern Ontario
  • Served on the Boreal West Round Table, representing tourism and ecological interests
  • An adjudicator on the Province of Ontario Environmental Appeal Board from 1988 to 1997
  • Member of the Thunder Bay Remedial Action Plan (RAP)
  • Co-founder and first Co-Chair of the Lake Superior Binational Forum, which advises the International Joint Commission on ways to reduce pollution and foster sustainability around Lake Superior
  • Currently serves on both the Local Citizens Committee and Forest Management Planning Team for the Domtar-Armstrong Forest.
