- Proprietor of WildWaters Nature Tours and Expeditions Ltd.
- Has run a variety of wilderness adventures and eco-tours from bases in Thunder Bay and Armstrong since 1976
- A Consultant on forestry and tourism
- Board member and past President of the North of Superior Tourism Association (NOSTA)
- Served as a Director of Northern Ontario Tourist Outfitters, the Armstrong Wilderness Outfitters Association and the Wildlands League
- Past President of Environment North
- Worked for many years on various projects dedicated to the sustainability of forests and the jobs dependent on boreal forests
- Helped plan and develop a network of protected areas in Northern Ontario
- Served on the Boreal West Round Table, representing tourism and ecological interests
- An adjudicator on the Province of Ontario Environmental Appeal Board from 1988 to 1997
- Member of the Thunder Bay Remedial Action Plan (RAP)
- Co-founder and first Co-Chair of the Lake Superior Binational Forum, which advises the International Joint Commission on ways to reduce pollution and foster sustainability around Lake Superior
- Currently serves on both the Local Citizens Committee and Forest Management Planning Team for the Domtar-Armstrong Forest.
