- Has served on several committees, including: Chair of the Windsor Ethnic and Race Relations Committee, Vice Chair of the Essex Region Conservation Authority, Vice Chair of the Detroit River Canadian Clean Up Committee, and the Art Gallery of Windsor
- Sat on the Board of Directors for the Canadian National Institute For the Blind (Essex-Kent District) and the AIDS Committee of Windsor and Essex County
- Former Program Coordinator for the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County, operating the Multicultural Youth In Action Program
- Worked with the Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities to develop the Opportunities Program
- Lives in Windsor with his wife Terry Chow, daughter Alexandria and son Wade
