A message from Stephen Lewis

Earlier today, Stephen Lewis sent this important message to grassroots supporters:

Friends, Stephen Harper’s plan is failing Canadian families and hurting our country’s reputation on the world stage. It simply cannot go on. We must not allow it. For the first time in our history, Canadians can elect a truly progressive federal government. Tom Mulcair is a strong, experienced, and principled leader ready to get Canada on track. The yearning for change is in the air. And the NDP is the embodiment of that change. I’ve made no secret of my deep concern over the direction Stephen Harper has taken our country. Even still, I remain hopeful that the country can be reclaimed. I believe we can have a government that works with the world, instead of against the planet. We can replace the politics of fear and division with hope and optimism. We can elect a government that ensures everyone belongs, and no one is left behind. I’m 77 years old. At the age of two, I was already on the campaign trail, licking stamps in the basement of Woodsworth House in Ottawa. I’ve waited 75 years for this moment.
