In 2018, Canadian women overall still make 32% less than men – and the gender gap is even wider for women with disabilities, immigrants, and Indigenous and racialized women. The result? Women are making less over their working lives, and are more likely to live in poverty, especially in retirement. Women’s wages shouldn’t come at a discount. That’s why the NDP is fighting for equal pay for work of equal value for all women in Canada. Justin Trudeau has yet to come through on his promise to advance pay equity. Canadian women are done waiting. Tell the Liberal government you want to see pro-active pay equity legislation tabled now to end wage discrimination and deliver economic equality for women.
